Aluminum Crochet Hook Size K OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW.
GAUGE : 3 sts = 1 inch
Directions are given for Small size. Changes for Medium and Large sizes are given in parentheses.
MEASUREMENTS : Width across front or back at underarm: 16″, 17″, 18″.
BACK : Ch 52 (56, 60), s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 d c in next st of ch, s c in next st, repeat from across ch, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW : D c in back loop of 1st s c, s c in front loop of next d c, d c in back loop of next s c, repeat from across row, ch 1, turn. 3rd ROW : S c in front loop of 1st d c, d c in back loop of next s c, s c in front loop of next d c, repeat from across row, ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows 14 (18, 22) times. NEXT ROW : Spacing sts evenly, working over side of each row work 47 (51, 55) s c down side, ch 1, turn. SHAPE ARMHOLE : Working 1 shoulder at a time sl st across 6 sts, ch 3, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from 4 times, ch 4, turn. NEXT 2 ROWS : S c in 1st loop, ch 3, s c in next loop, repeat from 3 times, ch 4, turn. NEXT 2 ROWS : S c in 1st loop, ch 3, s c in next loop, repeat from twice, ch 1, d c in last loop, (dec), ch 4, turn. NEXT 5 ROWS : Work 3—ch 3 loops, ch 4 to turn all rows, cut yarn. Skip 13 (17, 21) s c for neck, attach yarn and work 5—ch 3 loops for other shoulder, complete shoulder and shaping same as 1st shoulder, cut yarn.
FRONT : Work same as back.
FINISHING : Block each section. Sew side and shoulder seams. Attach yarn at back of left shoulder, work around neck as follows: ch 1, skip length of a sl st, sl st in next space, work in same manner around armholes.
