Ch 42, 1 s c in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn, (41 s c). 2nd ROW: S c in 1st s c, * ch 7, skip next 3 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * 8 times, ch 3, skip next 3 s c, trc in next s c, turn. 3rd ROW: Ch 7, s c in next loop, repeat from beg to last loop, ch 3, trc in center st of same loop, turn. 4th ROW: Ch 7, s c in next loop, repeat from beg to last loop, ch 3, trc in trc, turn. Repeat 4th row until scarf measures 60 inches from beg, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: S c in trc, then work 4 s c in each loop, working last s c in 4th st of last ch (41 s c), cut yarn. FRINGE: Wind yarn over a 9 inch cardboard, cut 1 end. Take 2 strands, fold in half, insert hook in 1st s c, pull loop through, then pull ends through loop. Work a fringe in every other s c across end of scarf. Work other end in same manner.
