146. ¶ What warkes a wyfe shulde do in generall.

First, at rising, bless thyself.

Sweep the house,

milk the cows, dress the children.

Send corn to the mill, and measure it before it goes.

Make butter and cheese.

Gather the eggs.

Put in order the garden.

Better are March hards than April flax.

Make sheets, towels, and shirts.

Dry the flax.

Sometimes there is a great deal to do.

Leave that till last which will best wait.

With some of the wool make clothes.

Winnow corn, brew, wash, make hay, etc.

Sell the butter, cheese, hens, geese, and corn.

Keep accounts.
