The Centurion's Servant.
AND, now, when Jesus entered
Into Capernaum;
A Centurion besought Him for
A servant, sick at home.
"I will come," He said, "and heal him."
The Centurion answered: "Lord,
I am not worthy Thou should'st come,
But only speak the word.
"For I, myself, am in command,
And whatsoe'er I say
To one, or to another man,
They instantly obey."
When Jesus heard him, in surprise
He said to those around:
"I verily, in Israel,
Such great faith have not found."
Then said to the Centurion: "Go,
Thy faith the work has sealed;"
And in the self-same hour he found
His servant had been healed.
