He was also associated with Mr. Burn in the Melville Monument of Edinburgh,—the preparation of the foundation, the rubble work for the tower, and the scaffolding and tackling for raising the statue were carried out under Mr. Stevenson’s direction; the whole architectural design being due to Mr. Burn alone.
