FIVE THINGS TO DO BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE

Be sure the emergency brake is set.

Be sure the gear-shift lever is in neutral position.

Retard the spark fully.

Open the gas hand throttle about one-third.

Throw switch to battery position.
