WEDDING CAKES.
Harrods have gained special distinction in this Branch, and supply exclusive and artistic Cakes from 10/6 to 50 guineas each at the uniform price of 1/6 per pound. Harrods make all their Cakes on the premises in their own bakery, and employ for this work only the most skilful and successful English and Continental Specialists. They supply one standard quality of cake only, the choicest that can be made, and of delicious quality and all-round excellence. The Cakes are encrusted with a thick layer of pure Almond Paste, artistically iced and piped with white sugar, which is made by a new process rendering it EASILY cut (not the usual hard icing), handsomely ornamented with silver decorations, etc. They are sold by weight at 1/6 per pound, unless otherwise arranged, and this price includes a finished Cake with simple decorations. Top centre ornaments and fuller decorations extra. Cakes intended to be decorated with natural flowers, and on request, are suitably piped to admit of this. To enhance the appearance of Cakes, a silver stand and saw can be hired at a nominal price, according to size; and, unless specially instructed to cut in wedges, all Cakes are sent out intact.

Packing and Delivery.—Great care is used in packing and delivery of Wedding Cakes; customers may rely upon them arriving in good time and condition. It is desirable, where possible, to give a reasonable length of time in order to admit of the Cakes receiving proper attention. Urgent orders will, however, be executed as expeditiously as possible. Wedding Cakes for Export.—The high standard of quality which characterises Harrods’ Cakes renders them particularly suitable for export to all parts of the world, whence they will be dispatched in tin lined cases charged at cost price.

They are made fresh daily in Harrods’ Bakeries, which ensures the purchaser receiving them crisp and fresh, a point of much importance in purchasing Shortbreads. “Royal Stuart” Shortbreads are carefully packed in elegant lace boxes, covered in “Royal Stuart” Tartan design. They are artistically decorated for presentation.
If desired, these Shortbreads can be enclosed in Tins and securely packed for abroad at a trifling extra charge.

Directions for turning out and serving sent with all Ices.
BY-THE-QUART ICES, sent out in Freezers, specially recommended for keeping frozen the longest time. One quart is considered sufficient for twelve persons.
ICES IN MOULDS AND ICE PUDDINGS, delivered in moulds. When ordering please state the shape of mould required, whether “tall” or “flat fruit-top” shape.
FANCY FRUIT DESSERT AND NEAPOLITAN ICES, supplied in moulds or in turned-out form on Laced Papers in Freezers. Unless otherwise ordered, these Ices are sent out in mould. Sugar Leaves for serving Fruit Ices on, made to order, price 4/0 per doz.
ICED COFFEE, CHOCOLATE AND SORBET sent out in Freezers.
ICED SOUFFLETS, supplied in suitable dishes, and delivered in Ice Caves.
For the convenience of customers, experienced men are despatched to any address for the purpose of turning out and serving Ices at a charge of 2/6 per hour, travelling expenses extra.
MERINGUES, being of an exceedingly fragile nature, are sent out at customer’s exclusive risk, and no allowance for breakages can be entertained.
UTENSILS are collected the day following delivery. If kept longer a charge for hire will be made. No deposit for same is required unless delivered outside radius of our own van deliveries.
