A HYMN.

“O, help me, Lord, by grace to win

The victory o’er this world of sin,

For I am weak when left alone,

I have no strength to call my own.

“O! lead me by Thy gentle hand,

Across this desert’s burning sand,

And when I’m weary let me rest

My aching head upon Thy breast.

“Direct my mind to things divine,

And keep my thoughts as pure as Thine;

Oh, let no wicked thoughts come in.

Let nothing cause my soul to sin.

“Upon Thy bosom let me lean

And keep my words so pure and clean

That angels hearing would not blush,

Nor heaven’s cry my voice to hush.

“REFRAIN.

“O, help me, Lord, by grace to win

The victory o’er this world of sin,

And o’er the billows safely guide

Me to life’s port on the other side.”
