Coffee Date Fudge

Sugar (granulated),2 cups
Coffee,1 cup
(Not too strong, and strain
through cheesecloth.)
Butter,2 tablespoons
Dates (stoned),½ cup

When the long stones were removed from the dates Betsey cut them each into four pieces.
