EARLY LESSONS.
Now, Master Puppy,
Sit up, if you please;
This is for your good,
Not in order to teaze.
When a nice little doggie
Seems anxious to learn,
A kind little master
Will not from him turn.
Now you must not be snappish,
But just do your best;
A five minutes’ lesson,
And then you shall rest.
Little Katie and Baby
Are anxious to see
If you try, like a good pup,
To imitate me.
Old Boxer, your friend too,
Is curling his tail,
And pricking his ears,
For fear you should fail.
But if you are careful,
I plainly can tell,
You will grow quite accomplished,
And do very well.
