FLOWER-BELLS.
Allegretto.
1.
The flower-bells are ringing! come one, and come all;
Come plain and come pretty, come great and come small.
The flower-bells are ringing! come quick, and you’ll say,
Some queer little people have joined in our play.
2.
They’ll do us no harm, and may do us some good;
They’d make us all happy and wise, if they could.
In cups of the flowers they love dearly to dwell;
Now listen, and hear them each ringing a bell!
3.
“Come, boys and girls, come to our flower-school and learn
The lessons we find in each lily and fern;
We’ll teach you to seek for the fair and the good,
In city and village, in field and in wood.”
