II., III., IV.
Air—“Yankee Doodle.”
Iniquity so very great,
Of justice so defiant,
Of course could only emanate
From brain of mighty giant.
This giant, now, is very small,
As all of you do know, sirs;
But then, there is no doubt at all
That he expects to grow, sirs.
There’s one thing more I ought to say,
And that will make us even—
It is to mention, by-the-way,
The giant’s name is——Stephen.
GIANT’S BASS-SOLO.
“Fe, fi, fo, fum,
I smell the blood of Free-dom;
Fe, fi, fo, fum,
Dead or alive, I’ll have some.”
Oh, terribly the giant swore,
With awful oaths and curses,
And language such as I can not
Engraft into my verses.
There was a giant once before,
And with a sling they slew him;
That Stephen could be slued with one,
No one would say who knew him.
