Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: K 3, * y o, K 2 tog, K 6, repeat from * ending y o, K 2 tog, K 2. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern stitch.

Cast on 79 sts. Work even in pattern st until piece measures 72 inches, ending with Row 1. Bind off.

FINISHING: Work 1 row s c on long sides. Cut velvet ribbon in 2 yd pieces. Weave ribbon through each row of y o’s. Sew at each end of stole. FRINGE: Cut strands of yarn 17 inches long. Using 4 strands, knot fringe in every other st across both ends.
