Checking a Rip in Tire Tubes
It is often difficult to prevent a small rip in an inner tube of a tire from becoming longer, even though a patch has been applied. An effective remedy is to punch a small round hole at each end of the rip before applying the patch. This stops the tendency to rip farther when pressure is applied.—Contributed by George H.
