The Union of States forever will stand,

The watchword of Freedom and Fame,

A refuge for all from tyranny’s sway,

An altar for Liberty’s flame.

That Banner, bedecked by Heaven’s own tints,

When threatened with insult or scorn,

Each Patriot heart will rally around,

To shelter its folds from the storm!

CHORUS.

The Union of States forever will stand,

Defying oppression’s dark blight;

Forever our flag will wave o’er the land,

The ensign of Freedom and Light.

Columbia’s sons triumphant will breast

Disunion’s tempestuous sea,

Our grand old Ship forever will sail,

The pride of the brave and the free.

What God in his mercy hath wisely ordained,

Forever a nation to stand,

Not all foreign factions or traitors combined

Can ever defame or disband.

CHORUS.

The Union of States forever will stand,

Defying oppression’s dark blight;

Forever our Flag will wave o’er the land,

The ensign of Freedom and Light.
