Said Ding, Dong, and Dell,
“Listen to the bell!”
Now it was not bell, but bells,
For the bells that rang were many,—
Bells upon bells;
You shall have a silver penny,
Or almost anything else,
If you can count the bells
That are ringing. And what for?—
Ding, Dong, and Dell
Will explain every bell,
That is to say, the bells,
Neither less nor more
Than the meaning of the Bells.
