[392] The date of his appointment is not known, but that it was before, or at least not later than, 1619 is shown by an inscription in a copy of T. Holland's Oratio Sarisb. babita, which records that it came to the Library in that year: 'Ex dono Johannis Vernulii, hypobibliothecarii.'
