Among much various matter, this Book contains: A Letter from Father Gabriel Marest, Missioner of the Society of Jesus, to Father Lamberville of the same Society, Procurator of the Missions of Canada, containing an Account of the Settlement of the French at Hudson's Bay and of their wars with the English, respecting the possession of that Country.--Extract of an Account of the Country of Acadia, in North America, yielded up by the King of France, to the Crown of England, containing a Description thereof; with an able Account of the customs, manners and religion of the Native Indians; written in the year 1710, by a French Gentleman, and sent to a Jesuit Missionary.
