The fall of a brother

Is warning alone.

Though hand joined in hand,

The Scriptures will tell,

How on a whole land

Dread punishment fell;—

The flames of Gomorrah,

The waves of the Flood,

Bereaved Egypt’s sorrow,

And Palestine’s blood!
