Chives. Eight hair-like threads. Tips bearded, and within the blossom.
Pointal. Seed-bud egg-shaped and glandular at the base. Shaft thread-shaped and purple. Summit shield-shaped at the base, and four-cornered at the top.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
Flowers from August, till February.
