Empalement. Cup four-leaved: leaflets ovately-pointed, with revolute glandular margins.
Blossom pitcher-shaped, smooth, and purple: the segments of the border are obtuse, and upright.
Chives. Eight hair-like threads: tips two-horned at the base, and just within the blossom.
Pointal. Seed-bud turban-shaped, slightly furrowed, hairy on the upper part, with honey-cups at the base. Shaft thread-shaped. Summit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
Flowers from August till September.
