Empalement. Cup double; the outer one is three-leaved; the leaflets egg-shaped and skinny, tiled, and pressed to the cup; the inner one is four-leaved, with larger leaflets.

Blossom club-shaped, turned inwards, wrinkled, and of a deep orange colour; the segments of the border are upright, and turned inwards.

Chives. Eight linear, flat threads; tips beardless, without the blossom, very long, and tapered into threads.

Pointal. Seed-bud turban-shaped. Shaft thread-shaped, a little longer than the chives. Summit four-cornered.

Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
