SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
Heath, with beardless tips, within the blossom: leaves bristle-shaped, long, and crowded: flowers grow in whorls, of a yellow colour: stem upright.
DESCRIPTION.
Stem two feet high, upright, with simple ascending branches.
Leaves in sixes, sevens, or eights, erect, crowded, and bristle-shaped: footstalks very long.
Flowers grow in crowded whorls near the ends of the branches: footstalks short, and furnished with three floral leaves.
Empalement four-leaved: leaflets lance-shaped, and pressed to the cup.
Blossom cylindrical, an inch long, yellow, and slightly ribbed: segments of the border nearly round, equal, and spreading.
