DESCRIPTIO.

Antheræ muticæ, inclusæ. Flores axillares sub apice ramorum, verticillati, numerosi. Pedunculi longissimi. Corolla tubuloso-campanulata, purpurea. Folia sena, tremulantia, linearia, tenuia. Caulis erectus, sesquipedalis. Rami simplices, verticillati.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips beardless, within the blossom. Flowers grow from the insertion of the leaves near the ends of the branches in whorls, and numerous. The footstalks very long. Blossom tubularly bell-shaped and purple. Leaves by sixes, tremulous, linear and slender. Stem upright, a foot and a half high. Branches simple and in whorls.


Native of the Cape of Good Hope.

In bloom from November till April.
