DESCRIPTIO.

Antheræ ad basin bicornutæ, inclusæ. Flores numerosi, ovati, purpurei, ad apices ramorum umbellati; pedunculis flore triplo longioribus, coloratis, viscidis. Folia sparsa, obliqua, truncata; petiolis tenuissimis. Caulis fruticosus, pedalis. Rami simplices, longi, filiformes.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips two-horned at the base, and within the blossom. Flowers numerous, egg-shaped, purple, growing in umbels at the ends of the branches. Foot-stalks thrice the length of the flowers, coloured and clammy. Leaves obliquely scattered, seeming cut off at the ends, and with very slender foot-stalks. Stem shrubby, a foot high. The branches simple, long, and thread-shaped.


Native of the Cape of Good Hope.

In bloom from August till December.
