DESCRIPTIO.

Antheræ muticæ, exertæ. Flores ex axillis foliorum, sub apice ramorum, verticillati. Corolla clavata, sesquipollicaris, parum curvata, glabra, aurantia. Folia quaterna, linearia, rigida, recta. Caulis fruticosus, erectus, tripedalis et ultra. Rami simplicissimi, erecti, verticillati.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips beardless, without the blossom. Flowers grow from the footstalks of the leaves, near the summit of the branches, in whorls. Blossom club-shaped, an inch and a half long, slightly curved, smooth, and orange-coloured. Leaves by fours, linear, harsh, and straight. Stem shrubby, upright, three feet or more high. The branches are very simple, upright, and in whorls.

Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom from May till September.
