DESCRIPTIO.
Antheræ aristatæ, sub-inclusæ. Flores terminales, umbellati, cernui. Perianthium tetraphyllum, foliolis spathulatis, canaliculatis, ciliatis. Corolla albida, urceoliformis, oris laciniis sub-reflexis. Folia terna, patentia, late ovata, revoluta, subtus albida. Caulis erectus, fruticosus, pedalis, ramosissimus. Ramuli frequentissimi, verticillati.
DESCRIPTION.
Tips bearded, just within the blossom. The flowers terminate the branches in bunches, and nodding. Cup four-leaved; the leaflets are spathula-shaped, channelled and lashed. Blossom white, pitcher-shaped; the segments of the border slightly bent back. Leaves by threes, spreading, of a broad egg-shape, rolled back at the edges, and whitish beneath. Stem upright, shrubby, a foot high, very branching. The smaller branches numerous, and in whorls.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom from April till July.
