DESCRIPTIO.

Antheræ muticæ, inclusæ. Flores verticillati, conferti, patentes. Corolla tubulosa, coccinea; laciniis revolutis, tenuiter crenulatis. Folia sena, conferta, incurvata, et patentia. Caulis fruticosus, semi-pedalis, robustus. Rami foliis dense tecti.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips beardless, within the blossom. Flowers in crowded whorls, and spreading. Blossom tubular, of a scarlet colour: the segments of the border are rolled back, and slightly notched. Leaves by sixes, crowded, turned inward, and spreading. Stem shrubby, half a foot high, stout. Branches thickly covered with leaves.

Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom from May till April.
