Tips beardless, within the blossom. Flowers terminal, densely whorled, and horizontal. Blossom tubular, short, inflated, and ribbed, resembling an Echium: segments of the border spreading and heartshaped. Leaves grow in irregular whorls of fives or sixes, linear, and pointed. Stem shrubby, a foot and half high.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom late in Autumn.
