DESCRIPTIO.

Antheræ muticæ, inclusæ. Flores in ultimis ramulis terminales terni vel seni. Pedunculi rubri. Corolla campanulata, magna, alba, et cernua: oris laciniis revolutis. Folia terna vel quaterna, linearia, patentia, obtusa, supra subplana, subtus sulcata; marginibus glandulosis. Caulis subpedalis, fruticosus; ramis et ramulis flexuosis.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips beardless, within the blossom. Flowers terminate the branches in threes or sixes. Footstalks red. Blossom bell-shaped, large, white, and nodding. Segments of the border rolled back. Leaves by threes or fours, linear, spreading, obtuse, nearly flat on the upper surface, furrowed beneath. Edges glandular. Stem nearly a foot high, shrubby. Large and smaller branches flexuose.

Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom from May till July.
