Antheræ muticæ, inclusæ. Flores plerumque terni, cernui, ad ramorum extremitates. Calyx duplex, ramis adpressus: exterior trifoliatus. Corolla cylindrico-clavata, purpurea: oris laciniis viridi-albicantibus. Folia ternata, linearia, nitida, erecto-patentia: majoribus flexuosis. Caulis bipedalis, fruticosus, erectus.

DESCRIPTION.

Tips beardless, within the blossom. Flowers grow mostly by threes, drooping, from the ends of the branches. Empalement double, and prest to the branches: the outer one three-leaved. Blossom cylindrically club-shaped, and purple: segments of the border of a greenish white colour. Leaves by threes, linear, shining, between erect and spreading: the older ones flexuose. Stem two feet high, shrubby, erect.

Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
In bloom from July till April.
