He was born on the 16th of June, 1828, and on the 13th of January, 1857, married Henzell, second daughter of David Dixon Ferguson, artist (descended from the Perthshire Fergusons of Dunfallandy), by his wife Mary, daughter of William Sanderson of Springbank, with issue -
