I am afraid, in spite of your disclaimer to the contrary, that were it not for the accident of my prospective wealth you would not have thought of proposing to me; but be this as it may, it would not influence the answer I have to give you, and it is kindest and best to tell at once, that there is no hope of my changing my feelings toward you.
