Messrs. Methuen have in preparation a series of children’s books under the above general title. The aim of the editor is to get entertaining or exciting stories about normal children, the moral of which is implied rather than expressed. An elaborate study and description of Cromwell’s army by which the victory of the Parliament was secured. The ‘New Model’ is described in minute detail, and the author, who is one of the most distinguished historians of the day, has made great use of unpublished MSS.
