Transcriber’s Note
The printer employed the diaeresis in words like ‘coördination’ or ‘coöperation’. On p. 157, the first syllable of ‘coöperating’ fell on the line break, and the word was hyphenated as ‘co-operating’, since the diaeresis was not needed. The word has been joined here and the diaeresis employed as ‘coöperating’.
The following words appear both with and without a hyphen: to-day, non-entity, half-way, inter-connected, non-entity.
Errors deemed most likely to be the printer’s have been corrected, and are noted here. The references are to the page and line in the original.
