This letter relates to evidences, favourable to Sleeper, which had not at the time been critically examined, but broke down when carefully scrutinised. See Prof. Poulton's address to the Linnean Society, May 25, 1914 (Proc., 1913-14, p. 23).
For many years he was Examiner in Physiography at South Kensington.
