NECK TRIMMING: Work 1 s c in every other st all around neck edge (120 s c). 2nd ROUND: 1 s c in each s c all around, ch 1, turn. 3rd ROUND: 1 s c in each of next 3 s c, * ch 3, 2 d c in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in same s c, 1 s c in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, 1 s c in each of next 2 s c, repeat from * all around ending with 1 s c, join in 1st s c, cut yarn.
MID-SECTION TRIMMING: Ch 289, work 1 s c in 2nd ch from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 3 chs, * ch 3, 2 d c in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in same ch, 1 s c in each of the next 3 chs, repeat from * across remaining ch, cut yarn. Sew in position at increasing round.
POMPON TRIM: Wind yarn 75 times over a 2½ inch cardboard, slip off cardboard, tie at center, trim into shape. Work 39 more pompons in same manner. Attach yarn in any st at lower edge of cape, * ch 15, skip 11 sts, 1 s c in next st, repeat from * all around (40 loops). Tie 1 pompon to the center of each loop.
