SKIRT BACK: Cast on 90 (94, 98) sts. Work 17 inches in stockinette st (K 1 row, P 1 row). Any change in skirt length should be made here. This skirt has been planned for a 25 inch length. 1st DEC ROW: K 8 (10, 12) * K 2 tog, K 16, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 8 (10, 12), 5 sts have been dec. NEXT 5 ROWS: Work even. 2nd DEC ROW: K 7 (9, 11), * K 2 tog, K 15, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 8 (10, 12). NEXT 5 ROWS: Work even. 3rd DEC ROW: K 7 (9, 11), * K 2 tog, K 14, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 7 (9, 11). NEXT 5 ROWS: Work even. 4th DEC ROW: K 6 (8, 10), * K 2 tog, K 13, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 7 (9, 11). NEXT 5 ROWS: Work even. 5th DEC ROW: K 6 (8, 10), * K 2 tog, K 12, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 6 (8, 10). NEXT 5 ROWS: Work even. 6th DEC ROW: K 5 (7, 9), * K 2 tog, K 11, repeat from * across row ending with K 2 tog, K 6 (8, 10). Work even until section measures 25 inches or desired length, bind off.
SKIRT FRONT: Work same as back.
FINISHING: Block sections. Sew side seams leaving 8 inches open on left side for zipper. With right side facing work a row of s c around lower edge, waistline and zipper opening. Sew zipper in position 1 inch below waistline. Face waistline with grosgrain ribbon allowing 1 inch underlap on back for closing. Sew hooks and eyes in position. Finish with edge same as jacket.
