"Her eyes the glow-worm lend thee,
The shooting stars attend thee,
And the elves also
Whose little eyes glow
Like sparks of fire, befriend thee!"
is precisely of that character. His "Daffodils" express the beautiful but melancholy sentiment which he so frequently found in nature:—
"Fair daffodils, we weep to see
You haste away so soon;
As yet the early rising sun
Has not attained his noon.
