Ent. the army 1815; prom. to his present rank 1854; formerly M.P. for Horsham, Calne, Tavistock, Stroud, and Tower Hamlets; has been surveyor-gen. to the Ordnance (Reform Club).

Dau. of the 16th and sister of the present Earl of Erroll; b. 1835; is niece of Lady Mary Fox.

S. of the late W. Ryan, Esq.; b. 1793; m. 1814, Charlotte, dau. of Wm. Whitmore, Esq. of Dudmaston, Shropsh. Educ. Trin. Col.
