The TEN COMMANDMENTS.
These are the Laws which God did give, Keep them by Faith in Christ, and live.
Exodus XX. 3. to 18.
1 Have thou no other Gods but me.
2 Unto no Image bow thy knee.
3 Take not the name of God in vain.
4 Do not the sabbath-day prophane.
5 Honour thy father, mother too.
6 Take heed that thou no murder do.
7 From whoredom keep thy body clean.
8 Steal not, although thy state be mean.
9 Bear not false witness, shun that blot.
10 What is thy neighbour's covet not.
FINIS.
An Hymn on the Holy Scriptures,
By Dr. WATTS.
Laden with guilt, and full of fears,
I fly to thee my Lord,
And not a glimpse of hope appears,
But in thy written word.
The volume of my Father's grace;
Does all my griefs asswage;
Here I behold my Saviour's face
Almost in every page.
This is the field where hidden lies,
The pearl of price unknown,
That Merchant is divinely wise
Who makes the pearl his own.
Here consecrated water flows
To quench my thirst of sin;
Here the fair tree of knowledge grows,
Nor danger dwells therein.
This is the Judge that ends the strife
Where wit and reason fail;
My guide to everlasting life,
Through all this gloomy vale.
O may thy counsels, mighty God,
My roving feet command,
Nor I forsake the happy road,
That leads to thy right-hand.
