The SHERIFF enters from the rear with a torch in his hand. He is followed by four soldiers, carrying the dead body of KERSTI between them.
All get on their feet.
PASTOR. Whom are you bringing with you?
SHERIFF. We are bringing the crown bride—Kersti!
