Hundreds of tons of native lake asphalt are used annually in the construction of built-up roofs and asphalt mastic floors for large office buildings and industrial plants. A large amount of asphalt is also used in the waterproofing of large engineering projects, such as tunnels, bridge structures, dams and reservoirs.
