“I don’t know. He passed through and went on to the balcony.”
“While he was on the balcony could you see him?”
“No.”
“Did you see him leave?”
“Yes. I saw him come in from the balcony and go out of the Fifth avenue entrance.”
“While you were in the Cafe Martin, did you call for a pencil?”
“Yes.”
