She gave him her card, and then after general farewells, intermingled with much nonsense and laughter, the Fairfield family, with Flo and Snippy, started for Rome.

HOMEWARD BOUND
“I AM glad to be in Rome again,” said Flo, as they once more sat at tea in the winter-garden of the hotel.
“Rome again, Rome again,
From a foreign shore,”
sang Patty; “but it doesn’t seem like Rome with none of the other Wonderers here.”
“And soon you’re going, too;—oh, Patty, how I shall miss you!”
