stars will be elucidated by a more detailed study of the silicon and strontium lines. The behavior of strontium appears, however, in some cases, to warrant the description of “abnormal,” and it may be that the first step in the

star problem will be the elimination from the general classification of spectra such as those of the strontium stars. The present writer inclines to the belief that the silicon and strontium stars will be included in the normal

star classification, when such a one is satisfactorily devised.
