Was wounded in the sortie from Bayonne, and at Waterloo recd. five wounds. Promoted lieut. 23rd Jan., 1817. Exchanged to the 11th Lt. Dgns., and served with that regiment at the siege of Bhurtpore, in 1825-6, where he volunteered for the dismounted cavalry storming party. Maj. on the unattached h. p. list 10th Jan., 1840. Lt.-col. 1851. D. in Paris 24th March, 1862.
