A very pretty name-label; engraved on copper. The name, with appropriate flourishes, is enclosed within an oval wreath, festooned above, and with a cherub’s face among the flowers.

The design of this plate is from the “Captor’s Medal.” An ancestor of the owner of this plate was the principal captor of Major André. A fine estate of the Pauldings’ lies on the Hudson River, with a castellated mansion of white marble, in which the notable library was housed. Author and politician.
