For the Hebrew, the power of Yahwe’s word is manifested supremely in the creation of the world:

Over the mountains stood the waters:

At thy rebuke they fled;

At the voice of the thunder they hasted away.

—Psalm 104:7.

By the word of Yahwe were the heavens made,

And by the breath of his mouth their host.

—Psalm 33:6.

For he spake, and it was done;

He commanded, and it stood fast.
