Fifteenth row:—Slip 1, knit 1, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together, knit 1, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together, knit the remaining stitches plain.

Sixteenth row:—Knit 3, knit 2 together, knit 3, knit 2 together, knit 5, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together, knit 1, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together.

Seventeenth row:—Slip 1, knit 1, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together, knit 1, bring the thread forward, knit 2 together, pass the thread twice over the needle, and knit 2 together. Repeat this 5 times. Knit 1.

This completes 1 vandyke. You then begin again from the first row, and repeat these 20 rows till sufficient length is done.
